Messy Paxton!

I think we have daily messes from our little Paxton and I recall we had similar messes when Caiden was a toddler too. It seems like I am constantly getting him out of the toilet or sink or someones drawers! Below is a small sample of the little messes he is constantly getting into!

This is lip gloss out of mom's purse. I'm sure I did not leave my purse on the floor, but I guess I left it within reach of his little fingers. Such a pretty boy!

This is a repeat of the lip gloss mess, but on a different day-I really need to find a new place for my purse!
Making Caiden's birthday cake- you have to let the kids lick the spoon right?
This mess was not a fun one to discover, and sadly, is one that was repeated in our bedroom twice! I finally had Jayson install the child locks on our bathroom cupboards cause I was tired of hauling the carpet cleaner out to clean up toothpaste!  Oh the joys of parenthood!

Making cookies

Jayson loves snickerdoodle cookies. I thought it would be fun to surprise him with cookies when he got home from work! I like to try and capture the moments when I make an attempt at being a good mom cause, believe me, it doesn't happen often! I made sure the boys put plenty of sanitizer on and we got started! Caiden loves to help me "make". He loves using the blender and measuring the ingredients.

Unfortunately, in my mind, these kind of activities play out much better than they actually do in real life. So shortly after we got started I had to eliminate one child from the situation because it was getting out of control-i.e. flour all over the place, the boys fighting over who gets to do what. So Paxton went down for a nap and Caiden and I finished up.

Caiden helped roll the dough into balls and roll it in cinnamon and sugar!

After a long afternoon, the cookies were a success! Jayson came home to warm, homemade cookies, hyped up kids and an ornery wife! Good times!

Get-a-way to Park City

I found someone to cover my evening shift so we could take a Friday night and go on a little over-nighter to Park City! We bought an entertainment book from Caiden for his school fundraiser and it gave us a discount on the room so we thought this would be a fun thing to do since there isn't much to do in the cold winter!  We went to eat at Ruby Tuesday's-we always liked to go there in Tennessee and there isn't one close to our house so that was fun! Then when we got to the hotel, we changed into our swim suits and hit the pool and hot-tub! Caiden loves hotels and swimming so he was in heaven!

I would like to say we slept great, but unfortunately the people in the next room were not in to sleeping so they were loud and we had to call the front desk on them twice! We woke up and ate a delicious free breakfast and then hit the outlet stores! We spent a lot of money in Old Navy and the Lucky Brand stores-Merry Christmas to us! Ha Ha!

Cute Caiden

Caiden got a hair cut today and the stylist thought it would be fun to put some color in his hair! He thought he was pretty cool! Cassidy is one of our neighbors. Caiden loves to play with her because she is so full of energy just like him! They get along really well. We are eating at a restaraunt-they love to play "kitchen".  We will be very sad when Cassidy moves away in the spring.

The other night when I put Caiden to bed, he wanted to sleep in our bed so I let him. He always has to sleep with "Mousey". Mousey has been his favorite stuffed animal since he was about three and he always has to sleep with him and sometimes takes him with us when we go out. When I put him to sleep in our bed, I guess he thought Mousey would like his own bed so he made one for him on our window bench. Good imagination to use a package of wipes for the pillow, a kitchen towel for a sheet and my pajama pants for a blanket!

Naughty Paxton

You've got to love toddlers! We had just finished giving the boys their bath for the night and got pajamas on and were ready for bed when Paxton escaped me while I was distracted with Caiden. Unfortunately, I neglected to drain the tub right after the boys got out and Paxton decided he was not done with his bath yet! He climbed in all by himself with his pajamas on! Silly kid! We decided to capture the moment instead of yell and get mad-looking back, I think that was a good decision! What a naughty, cute kid!

Halloween 2011

We had such a fun Halloween this year! Caiden got to do a parade and have a party at school and the whole family dressed up for trick-or-treating. Grandma and Grandpa Wadsworth came over for some dinner and they tended to the house while we walked the neighborhood! Paxton stayed in step right behind Caiden and seemed to really like it. He did stop a few times to try and actually eat the candy he had been given, but he did really well at keeping up with big brother! The funniest thing was that a lot of people would just let them take one out of the bowl and everytime this happened Paxton of course would grab a whole handful. The people would just laugh and say it was ok for him to have that much. So Paxton ended up getting a ton because everyone seemed to just want to let him dive in! Our neighbors thought it was cute that Jayson and I dressed up so they gave us candy too. It was win-win for everyone!

I want to play bowling ball!

When ever we asked Caiden what sport he wanted to play he always said. "I want to play bowling ball." We decided we would take him bowling so he could see if that is really what he wanted to play as a sport! We took the neighbor friends along and wrestled the toddlers while the big kids played. The toddlers got their turns too! It was fun to watch them get so excited about pushing the ball off the ramp-most of the time they forgot to watch if they even hit any pins. All the kids really liked playing and we had a hard time dragging them home for bed after that!

Falling leaves

Caiden and Paxton loved playing in the leaves on this beautiful fall afternoon. I couldn't help but to snap a few pictures of my cute boys. We have had unseasonably warm weather the last month month and a half, but we couldn't be more happy about it! We hate to see summer go!

Caiden would rake up the leaves and then slide into them, giggling all the time!
Caiden wanted Paxton to cover him up with leaves, which he did for a while and then just decided to cover him up with his body!

The boys love their four wheelers!! I think they like the real ones even better, but these are good substitutes.

Fire prevention week

Jayson really hates that I made him go to this because he misses fire fighting so much, but Caiden really wanted to go and it was so fun for the kids. We got to the fire station early and got in line for fire truck rides right away! Caiden got to sit in the front seat and the driver told him to push the button for the horn, but he was too scared. He loved riding around the block in it though and had a lot of fun at the fire station. The fire engine from the outside.

While we were waiting in line for the fire truck, Smokey came out to greet the kids, as you can see, Paxton was a little timid about meeting the big bear.

While waiting in line, the Air Med helicopter landed in the parking lot-didn't get a pic of that darn it! They had a smoke trailer to practice safe exits in and some bumper car things that would wreck into each other to simulate what it would feel like getting in a head on collision. Pretty fun night!

So much fun when Grandma comes!

My grandmother had such a good time seeing my mom and sister and me when we visited in April that she was really felt she had to come on more time to Utah to see the rest of the family. She met Caiden when he was three months old and some of the other grand kids when they were small too, but it had been a long while since she had come to Utah-mostly because she was worried about flying alone at her age. She asked my Uncle to accompany her and offered to pay for his plane ticket and he gladly accepted. He has never come to Utah to visit so this was nice too. One Saturday while she was here, I thought it would be fun for all the grand kids to go on the Frontrunner, which is something I figured my grandmother and uncle would enjoy too. We met at the station and boarded the train set for Woods Cross! Upon arrival we walked a few blocks to the A&W for ice cream and root beer floats! The morning was enjoyed by all- the kids loved riding in the train and it was fun to get out in the remaining good weather we were having.

My grandma is such a sweet and wonderful woman-I am so glad she came to visit and hope that my kids can remember their great-grandma too.
