Snoqualmie Falls-Washington day 2

Right before we got to Kent Washington (where our friends live) we were told by Steve to stop at Snoqualmie Falls. The city was quaint and beautiful and the falls were pretty impressive too. There was some construction going on so we couldn't walk down by the river, but we still got some nice shots of the waterfall.

We had to park across the street and walk across this cute covered bridge.

It was good chance to stretch our legs and very beautiful to see.

First day in Washington!!

In March our friends moved to Washington and Jayson and I thought it would be really fun to go see them at the end of the summer. So we called them up and they were totally good with the idea too. As it turns out, Jayson's step dad has three kids that live in Washington near where we were going. Our first stop was to Donna and Dan Woolsey's home (Jayson's step sister). As luck would have it, her daughter was visiting from Florida with her son too! We go there and jumped in the pool for a swim!

Me with the boys!

It took a long time to convince Caiden to get on the raft, but he liked it once he did. Baby Jamison liked his raft too. He didn't squawk at all being in the water. We borrowed one of Jamison's hat for Paxton's little blond noggin so he wouldn't get his head sunburned.

Paxton loved the hammock and Jamison! He loved on that baby all day!
We had a delicious bar-b-q after the swimming and some really good visiting and getting to know our family.  We got everyone in the shot except Dan (he had to take the pic).

After a great afternoon and evening we headed over to Jayson's step brother Steve's house. He has a camp trailer parked outside of his home that he let us crash in which was awesome cause the kids love camping and it sort of felt that way.

Random kid pictures

Toddlers can be so cute and funny, which is good cause I don't think they would make it past two years old.  Paxton got this shirt stuck on his head and thought it was pretty funny.

He learned how to do "silly eyes" and also thinks that is pretty funny.

I wanted to take some picture with Miss Kitty cause I know she won't be around forever. She is such a fat cat, but is a really good cat most of the time.  The boys really like her and most of the time she is nice to them. She does scratch them from time to time when she's had enough.

Fourth of July!!

Nothing like cotton candy on a hot summer day!
We went to the usual "Party at the Point" for our city. They have really fun activities and the fire works are great.  This year Caiden climbed the rock wall almost to the top!

Paxton liked to dance to the music before the fireworks! As is tradition, we invited my parents to come with us and the gladly accepted. The boys sure do love their grandparents!

First Bear Lake camp trip

We love our favorite camping spot up near Bear Lake. There are several four-wheeler trails and the lake to provide more than enough things for us to do.  This fort was already started when we got there, but the kids stayed entertained adding to it.

Another favorite past-time for our boys is driving the dump trucks- they could do it for hours!

Cute little kids- we love to take my niece Brooke with us to help entertain the boys. They love her too and get a long really well.
Grandma and the kids at the lake. We convinced my sister Cailin and her husband Jacob to come with us and bring their boat. After an hour of riding the kids were done and wanted to play on the beach. The sand and the water are like a kid's dream come true!

Mom's group at the fish farm

This would be a first for both of my boys! We have never taken them fishing before-we don't have any poles or fishing licenses so that makes it tough. Plus with two very active kids and one ADHD father, patience while waiting for a fish to bite is not something my boys would have much of.

The other really nice thing is that the farm cleans them and wraps them up all ready to eat so all you have to do is take them home and grill em!  Caiden was a little sad when he found out we were taking the fish home to eat and not to have as pets. :(

The dirty dash

My work does some very fun things and I have to admit, that I work with some very fun people. This year, our administrator sponsered a team for the Dirty Dash. Pineview paid half the cost and we had to make up the other half. People dress up and put on some crazy costumes, but we decided to go with some awesome swim caps with flowers glued to them (which made for easy clean-up of my hair afterwards!).

We looked so nice and pretty to start out with-but very quickly we got muddy!

Taking a plunge at the end of the race-I should clarify it really isn't a race cause I'm sure we would have been last. We did travel a total of 5 miles I think. There were obstacles and mud pits and all sorts of fun things to do along the way! Good dirty fun!
This is most of the group that we were with, we missed some stragglers at the end, but this is the bulk of us. My boss is the one right next to me-how cool is your boss? Mine is awesome!

First trip to the property

Every year for the past 5 years, we have rented property for camping from Jayson's aunt. The really nice thing about the property is that we have a spot whenever we want one and we can just park our trailer there and leave it if we want to too. The problem with the property is that it doesn't accommodate other big trailers and it is by a busy road that can sometimes be loud on the weekend.

One responsibility as a renter, is that we have to keep the grass (weeds) down so that the snakes don't make a permanent residence while we are there. We got this awesome old riding lawnmower from Jayson's dad a few years back to help us with the task! The kids love riding on it so it makes it fun for everyone!

Visit from Mandy Sue!

In nursing school, I made one really good friend. We sat by each other every day and tried to keep each other from falling asleep and eventually helped each other to graduation. Mandy was my best girl in nursing school and we grew really close to each other.  After school, Mandy's husband got accepted to a dental school in Ohio and they were forced to move there. Her mom still lives just one city away from us so when she came to visit this summer, we scheduled in a play date!

This is her little (and I mean little!) girl Iva. She is about 13 months old and as cute as a button. Paxton does not like sharing his toys, but thought she was cute enough that he didn't really squawk when she got in his car!  She really loved riding in McQueen.

New bunk beds

Up until now, Caiden has had his bedroom in the basement by himself, while Paxton's bedroom was right across the hall from our room. Caiden liked having his room downstairs until recently, when he started saying he was scared in the basement all by himself. We decided to bring Caiden back upstairs with his brother. In order to do this, we had to purchase some bunk beds and while they are not my favorite ones in the world, they are functional and the boys seem to love them.  The other night we found them both in the top bunk with Paxton sleeping on top of Caiden as shown in the pictures.  These boys really do love each other and we might as well enjoy them wanting to share a space cause I'm sure it won't be long before they hate sharing a room.
